Greg Oden, started his basketball career young. At 17, Greg Oden was named Parade’s High School Co-Player of the Year as well as National Boys Basketball Player of the Year. These two titles gave him the unprecedented status on being the first Junior to receive such recognition since LeBron James. The 7 foot, 280lb basketball player continued to thrive, and in the following year was awarded with the title 2006 Indiana Mr. Basketball. As well, he played in the All-American game and was on the McDonald’s All American Team. This success has continued as throughout the years Oden has broken yet more records. In December 2009, Greg Oden set a new career high for rebounds in a game.
